I keep a movie log in my paper journal, so I figure why not keep a log online too.
This will not be a review site, sometimes just my own personal reflections that might only make since to me (this is just meant for me BTW, but if someone else follows that is great too)
For the most part I mainly watch Horror and "genre" related movies, but On-Demand services cause me to watch some ridiculous things I might not usually watch (late night...nothing is on...trying to go to sleep, put on brainless movie).
If I happen to watch a mention worthy television show I might mention that here too.
Late night On-Demand pick. I figured, okay, its an 80’s movie with Phoebe Cates in it, it can’t be that bad.
Phoebe Cates with the worst haircut ever and her fiance are having an engagement party at her rich parents house. Three burgerlers crash the party and kidnaps her fiance. It turns out they are his doofus friends and they are taking him out for a good time (drink by himself it looks like?). An angel with a broken wing crashes into his pool. He feels the need to rehabilitate her and protect her from his doofus friends who are trying to exploit her. Phoebe Cates thinks he is fucking the angel and goes completley bonkers.
This movie was fucking dumb and hardley even funny. Only rated so high because it was 80’s cheese.
I could not find a trailer but here are some clips somebody put together.
I couldn’t find any screenshots either, but found this collage of Phoebe with that horrid haircut….in desktop wallpaper size…..WHY???
I put it on as a sleep movie and fell alseep half an hour into it. I finished it up the next following night. Two losers wanting the same job of being the manager of a grocery store. Since it stars John C. Reilly and Seann Willaim Scott you can predict how the movies is going to be. It was not as funny as I expected it to be and if John C. Reilly wasn’t in it I probably would not have finished watching it.
We had a free rental code from Redbox so Shane picked a random movie from there and he picked Saw 5. Shane and I are not really Saw fans, we just watch them for the sake of watching them I guess, You basically know what you are getting into and by the time you watch the first couple you already are familiar with the franchise and you figure why not just continue to watch them regarless of the quality of them. These movies get worse and worse with each sequal. The characters get more and more boring, more and more unattractive (with an exception of Dexters girlfriend on “Dexter”), I have a hard time watching movies with ugly people in it. So yeah, it sucks, I knew it would. I know the next one will suck but I know we will watch that too (on DVD of course)
